October, November, & December

I started this post about October 2023 in January..now here we are, almost to the next October. 😅 I had lots of fun chronically each month last year but life happened & here I am picking up where I left off a year later. Since everything has blurred together, you get a triple threat in one post & come back again soon for some spring & summer updates!

Also, in reading what I started writing in January, my jaw dropped & my eyes are a little teary because of my verse for last October. Every day this week in some way shape or form, the Lord has been reminding me to hope. And here's two sentences where the word "hope” is written FIVE times! A whole year later. Y'all, I am expecting something! I don't know what it is. I don't know what I'm looking for. But boy! Am! I! Excited! Is it coming tomorrow? In a month? Maybe it's another 365 days from now. I'll wait eagerly for it with patience. If this post reaches no other eyes than mine, I am so happy to have this post to remember & wonder. Write things down, people! Because memories fade but we need to remember. Especially God's faithfulness. Wow this was a sweet detour for me (& I hope ;) it was for you too)! Now back to our regularly scheduled programming...

October makes me happy. 😊 The winter scaries are around the corner but everything is still a bit more magical in October.

"Now in this hope we were saved, but hope that is seen is not hope, because who hopes for what he sees? Now if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with patience."

Halloween - October 31st

Never have I ever met so many Alexis's in my life than this year haha! I gained two Alexis friends at work & two others at church! Three of us gather as a regularly as our schedules allow for The Alexi movie nights & Halloween happened to be one of them! This is also the actual only holiday I celebrated in October haha but other fun confetti moments were had so please keep reading if you wanna hear about them!

Gender Reveal Party

A couple friends of mine are having a baby GIRL! Not only was I in charge of the reveal & cake but this was actually the first ever gender reveal party I've attended so I appreciated their trust in me. 😂 I was oh so nervous to leak the information prematurely so I told Alison I wouldn't be talking to her until after the reveal and then once it was all over I still felt like I had to keep the secret....even though I had told everyone who doesn't know her ahead of time so I could get it out hah. Darren is really into hunting so he wanted to shoot balloons until he popped the one with the confetti (of course I used a pink mix of The Confetti Bar's biodegradable Floralfetti & Solufetti!). And Alison wanted a yummy cake. With these two requests in mind, I set out to work.

I'm not going to lie, things did not really go according to my plan haha. The strawberry cake (Alison's fave) I was planning to get no longer exists haha so my next thought was Nothing Bundt Cakes because well, that's my favorite! They don't ice their cakes all the way down which I get but that left me to ice the bottom to cover up any peeks of pink which wasn't the prettiest lol but it was delicious so that worked out fine. Now for the main part of the celebration. I purchased large black balloons ahead of time & took them to a grocery story day of to be inflated but there was some struggle so I ended up at Party City to fill the balloons. I started taking these big 'ol balloons to my car only to realize that there was no way 6 of these big boys were going to fit in my car. In the process of trying to figure out a new plan on the spot, the confetti-filled one popped in my trunk. In the moment I was getting pretty frustrated but now it's funny to replay the comedy of errors in my mind. I ended up getting all small balloons (for shooting) with one decorative question mark printed balloon (for fun). Once I got to their house, I unloaded everything careful not to track in any of the loose pink confetti in my car. Alison spotted something in my hair & I was terrified it was the aforementioned confetti but lucky for us, it was a fleck of gold mica so nothing was revealed before it should've been. She thought she had offended me wondering if it was a bug or something but I was just so scared to give away the surprise! 🤣

At the end of the day, the secret was safe until it was time to spill the beans & it was such a fun little celebration! Even after the reveal I had to remind myself that I was now allowed to talk about this sweet baby's gender with her parents hah. Now she's here & is as cute as can be!

A Confetti Bar

My church hosted a girls event for the youth group last year & invited women to decorate tables for the small group time. I couldn't resist this opportunity! I knew right away that I wanted to set up a confetti bar for the girls to make their own mix to take home. It pays to be friend's with *the* confetti artist! I sent her the logo/colors for the event & Jessica nailed it. I labeled each color with a different word to make it more meaningful. And obviously needed to have a friendship bracelet at each setting. I wasn't there for the actual event but I hope the girls that happened to be at my table felt loved & mixes as beautiful & unique as them.

This ended up being a mother-daughter project (as most of my projects go) because even states apart, we put our heads and resources together to bring this table to life. It even had touches of my best friend (aka mom's bonus daughter haha) because she sent me the plates & napkins I used for this. I still have a few more so who wants to party?!
